In each space game should be an energy shield and warp drive. I think this game does not need them. Except something like a short emissions of energy, repelling metal objects, turn-off electronics.

You mean EMP Weapons?

I mean something like magnetic shield. Deflect bullets, mini asteroids, dust, and sun winds killing radiation + EMP(burn guidance system of missiles) for a short period of time. It can be like a wave spreading from the ship or a cocoon around it. The main thing is to make it look more low-tech and not perfect with major drawbacks.

JAre, the developers want the in-game technology to be somewhat like what we could expect technology to be like in 70 years.

On this interval can be developed an effective magnetic and plasma shields. But do not hyperdrive or impenetrable shield that reflects lasers, bullets and blast waves :)

no way, even "cold" plasma would be hot enough to melt the hull of your ship after just a second. In 70 years that fact is not going to change- for the same reasons that water freezes at 32f or 0C at sea level. Plasma is the 4th state of matter, like solid, liquid or gasses.
A magnetic shield may be feasible, but it would kill anyone with a pacemaker and screw with various other electronics.
I do believe however, that EMP weapons MAY work at short range.

However, it's not my call- I just wanted to inject some facts into this.

Magnetic shields won't repel bullets since bullets don't have a charge. They would be able to screw up missiles like an EMP.
EMP's have been discussed in uncountably many threads on this forum, so if you search around you might find more information.

Actually, i have to correct myself; magnetic shields would actually attract the bullet, causing it to hit you faster.

Magnetic Shield already in development. It simulates the Earth's magnetosphere to reflect radiation and charged particles of solar wind. Since it is a fantastic game, not a simulator, then it is possible to reflect bullets aswell :) Even more, bullets can be magnets because are used in space(not powder gun) but Gauss cannon.
Plasma of noble gases are already used to reproduction a controlled thermonuclear fusion. Scientists hold it with magnets so it does not contact with the walls of the chamber. In the case of a plasma shield you need something like the magnetic levitation what would hold the plasma at a certain distance.
The first rule of Star Trek "The main thing is to look plausible" :)

I see your point, but again for details i want to say something irrelevant.
first when something is held in place by magnets, there is one on each side both attracting said object.
second Normal guns would work in space. when you use the term "powder guns" being a hunter, the first thing i think of is a muzzle loader. But i assume you mean any gun in use today. this has already been discussed here ->
http://www.minerwars.com/ForumTopic.aspx?id=304
basically, gunpowder is self oxidizing so it would shoot in space, second the shell is air tight, it will hold enough air for the blast; it would even shoot under water.

Gauss gun consumes electricity(it's easy to obtain in space) and can shoot anything that reacts to a magnetic field(including the just extracted ore). A weapons based on chemical reactions requires a reagent. For the Gauss gun needs only a bullet. For chemical weapons need bullet + reagents. In addition, from the barrel of chemical weapons burst gas jet, which, in addition to bullet pulse, adds more recoil, so we have even more displaced in the opposite direction.
But we're not talking about that :)
Magnetic levitation is possible without the magnets on both sides. Not with plasma and at very low temperatures. But we're talking about what will happen in 70 years:)

Although I am not a scientist but even I have a plausible solution to this problem. We need to create a spinning magnetic field which will draw plasma to the ship and spin it. Due to centrifugal force, it will not approach to ship, and will be located at a constant distance.
Plasma temperature can be sustained by high-frequency fluctuations of the field. In addition, if the magnetic field is very strong and plasma rotates very quickly, then thanks to the pressure might start nuclear fusion:)

that magnetic levitation occurs without he magnet on both sides because it's magnet-on-magnet. if it were magnet-on-ferrous material it would only serve to pull it in faster.
once again on the plasma shield, the shield would do more damage to the ship than it would serve to protect it from. Even at a fair distance, if something is totally surrounded by plasma, like a shield, it would be like putting that something into a extremely hot oven.
and: electricity isn't so easy to get in space either. the solar panels are only 2X as effective as they are in atmosphere, but that still isn't a lot.

The best protection against bullets is a nice thick layer of metal.

In this type of magnetic levitation(cold superconductor) magnetic fields do not simply repel each other, they tend to keep objects at the same distance, even if you flip the bar.
Plasma is ionized substance, it might both attract and repell magnets, depending on the polarity.
Since there is no air in space, the ship will be warmed up only by radiation, while the body that came into direct contact, immediately melt and its pulse will be distributed over the entire area of the shield, rather than break a hole. It's just a good addition to the magnetic shield.
This shield might itself produce energy by analogy with

+ Plasma shield is simply cool and nothing more is necessary :)

On spaceships uses a composite armor. The first layer is used to shred micro asteroid into small pieces, after which it flies a little bit, scatter (like shotgun bullets)- this increases the area of impact, then collide with a layer which should stop it.

The most suitable weapon for space fights is a laser weapon, since it requires no ammo, and almost has no recoil. This beam burns the target. How do I protect myself? You can reflect it (the property of surface) or refract (gravitational or other force field or through the refracting properties of the shell) But there is another option. You can use the impenetrable shield of the particles (plasma) which will be heated instead of shell. When the particles of the shield will be overheated, they can be throw in the space and replaced with new ones from reserve.
