I can make it 100x better and fully texture it if its a go.

Its a large carrier with a dock in the front with the bridge on top and thick armored sides to prevent long ranged attacks.

Im planing on making the sides have interlocking armored plates and be a bit rounded.

i'm not a modeler - so i'm not sure what type/size of ship they are looking for....however from a purely objective point of view i'd say you probably need to bring it a long a bit further to really give a proper indication of what the final product might look like

that being said, considering there is an official 3d model competition going with a cash prize, I doubt the judges (devs) will be able to give you much feedback on it in order to keep things fair

wel its indeed rough you can try to make it better here is a document with some info how ship's must look in

Here is an update to get a better look at the ship.

i cant do allot at a time because i have a life :\
but ill try to do as much as i can. Im also new at modeling so im a bit slow at it doing details takes me FOREVER! So plz if this is not the style than let me know so i don't wast my time.

Info: large Ship carrier with large cargo. When i was making it i was imagining it having limited weapons but good differences. able to rearm and refuel smaller ships (if there is fuel) and maybe change fittings?

One piece of advice, those 'wing' kind of looking side panels, are ridiculous. In space unnecessary parts floating out of the core of the ship can only cause trouble. So try contouring the sides to the body of the ship, or angle the panels so they can 'logically' block the light from the parts of the ship where humans would like to look out into space.

Other than that, it reminds me of that first ship, the red one that is in the initial intro. It's a start, add a few more details in there...

My idea behind the sides was armor to protect from long ranged attacks and it comes out so i front to maximize the effective angle of the armor to protect the dock.... but i could try to work the sides out of the model, the only place to look out of the ship would be the bridge. having windows all over the ship would mean having holes in the armor. but i can remove the sides for you...... oh and i made the sides all jagged to brake up the outline of the ship, so it looks more natural form a distance.

Well i gave up on my big one i was imagining myself just adding on but it became a huge mess and it started geting lopsided and i all out trashed the model... but i tryed agen on a smaller ship.. i dint see fighter on the ship list but thats what i made sooooo ill just post it and stop makeing you look at my awful spelling.

im not sure what bit was funnier...the way you ended the post or the fact the image was called "YEYderp" ......I lol'd.

Anyway, I think your on a much better track this time mate. My only questions is that im not sure if its the angle of the photo, but it appears there is more surface area on the right side of the canopy than on the left (not symmetrical - yes im pedantic lol). Also, its worth noting air intakes (front left) are not required in space, and that would only allow for asteroids/rocks/debris to get caught and slam inside your ship at high speeds.

It reminds me of an SR 71 blackbird, I like it!

Ya the rifer from EvE and the sr71 were my inspiration. and the air intake looking thing is going to have the rotary gun in it the one on the right wing is like the sniper/ cannons and then the missiles on the left wing are missiles lol.... and it looks lop sided because it is :| i wanted to have a enclosed gun with just the barrels coming out but i tried to make it just come out like a box and it dint look as good and if i try to make it go back to the width as the left side nose it blocks the opening for the gun soooo this is the only way i could do it in my eyes.. there is no gun in there atm btw.. so don't look for it lol i need to work on it.

"quick question"..... lol. Pretty sure the answer is long and detailled, hehe.

i watched a video about texturing on blender and it told me to 'unwrap' it so its a 2d version of the model or something but it just makes it into an distinguishable blob of triangles and squares... this could take some time.

Hello, too bad you stopped on the carrier-like ship. The moment I saw the last picture I Imagined it with those large side panels sloped and containing a Very Large Array of sensors inside, maybe for scanning the inside of asteroids for valuable materials without having to do complicated maneuvers to slow down and align the ship with them.
Your new model is quite sexy too, I love the way its almost simetrical-but-not-quite-so, like if the designer had beauty in his mind while making it fully functional (Perhaps beside the cockpit is part of the ships internals.
I'd advice against having the gun and rocket pods since the game is meant to add those elements dynamically using attachment points.
Keep up the good work!
If your ship makes it to the game I'm certainly trying very hard to obtain one.
