After doing Fort Valiant III mission where I picked my gear back up after the pow-wow with the big dogs my game crashed. Load back and my gear is gone, no weapons, no harvester. Rest of my inventory is intact, but I can't recover the rest.

It appears that the game saved my progress, marked the checkpoint as complete, and then gave me my gear. Thus until I would hit another checkpoint I'm vulnerable to crashes. I'm not sure if loading an earlier checkpoint will fix it or not, because it crashed again when I tried it.

Okay, loading the older save didn't let me get the gear from the box, but it was back on the Sapho, thankfully.

I experience some others bugs with checkpoints, like marcus standing still... Although i never had a crash (unless alt-tabbing) ingame.

Maybe it could help, but if you want to reload a previous CP, exit the game prior to that. then relaunch, and load your old CP. Thankfully, newer CP will not be erased.
It helps at home. then re-work fine if i continue the game and CP going normally afterward. It's been some time i didn't exited to reload an old CP.

Edit : it didn't crashed there, but now i understand what kind of bug you've talked about.
the cargo boxes games is a little disturbing, and i'm sure a crash here would cause nasty things.
