Well, I guess this is kind of late, but I might as well...

Howdy! I'm Sykes! I'm from the D2X-XL project as a primary tester (mainly for multiplayer), working under the management of Diedel (who runs D2X-XL). I've been watching Miner Wars for quite a while and I'm extremely impressed! I've seen a lot of developers rise and fall, and I've been a tester for quite a few projects where the management team does a terrible job of holding the community together (Global Agenda, HiRez's game is a perfect example). But you guys are different, you really are a community-driven team, and that's awesome. For having such a small team and few resources, you guys are doing an extremely impressive job!

I may not have modeling skills, creativity, or have hit reddit.com with my affiliate URL and had the website break (Dang you, Drakon! >:P ), nor am I able to attend the D3 tournament coming up to decide the top 24 Descent players, but I have a long history with beta testing for many projects, online and locally here in my city. I test for students at my local college, as well as my father who is a software developer. I've got a fair amount of know-how when it comes to this stuff, and I'm an experienced tester. I'm sure Diedel can attest to that. Also, thanks to unique circumstances, I have a lot of free time and motivation to work on this project (Diedel can attest to that as well... hehehe). I'm not a white trash tester that begs to be in it just so they can play the game, only to complain about the lack of features or server downtime. I'm in it to make the dev's job easier, such is the definition of Quality Assurance.

I also love working with people and helping them out. I can't count how many times I would bring new members of D2X-XL into a chat room, introduce them to the community, and help them out installing, troubleshooting, and learning their way around. I have a way with people, and I like doing stuff that other people usually hate doing, like helping new members out or walking them through setup process. Stuff like that.

Despite having to miss the D3 tournament, I'm a rather skilled pilot! Perhaps if there's another way I could prove my skills on another date (the 22nd, I'm occupied), I could do that.
